College...:(

This article made me laugh, it was seriously funny. The breakdown of the hours, 2 hours of useful information and 1998 hours of things you'll forget, was so funny and kind of awful how true it will actually be. The description of wha field to go into (English if you can make stuff up, Philosophy if you plan on doing a lot of drugs, Psychology if you like rats and dreams, and Sociology if you can make simple things drawn out and confusing) was hilarious! This article seriously just cracked me up.
I am SUPER scared to go to college next year, like you have no idea. College scares the crap out of me, the idea of being closer to being on your own, having debts, choices, etc. just freaks me out. I know what I want to do with my life, Speech Pathology (Communication Science and Disorders), but it terrifies me. I am also afraid of failing out of college or dropping out because it is too hard. Mainly just afraid of failing. The article though was a nice little laugh and calmed me down a bit. Ms. Wood's comment made me laugh too, actually seemed like some good advice.

grammar IS bogus

I actually did not know that some of these now "bogus rules" were rules in the first place. Some of them are just things I avoid doing o do all the time without knowing that I am making a grammar Nazi mad. I didn't know you weren't supposed to split infinitives, I honestly didn't even know what on was until I started taking French. I end sentences in English with prepositions all the time, and again the only  reason I know that it is wrong is beccause of my French class. Ms. West gets super annoyed when you end a sentence with one and since you cannot do it in French she WILL correct you. I didn't even know there was a rule for which. I don't start a sentence with And or But because it just seems weird, so even though it is now okay to do so I will continue to avoid it. I also didn't know not using a passive voice was a grammar law, sucks to suck I do that a lot. The singular verb one is super confusing, pretty positive I use that one wrong a lot too, but oh well I could care less. The word rule is a weird one and I can't say I completely understand it. From the article I learned that I am very ignorant when it comes to grammar, but I don't care enough to change it. Sorry.

Grammar rules response

I suck at grammar. I seem to always use it the wrong way. The only grammar rule I make a point to using correctly is the me, myself and I pronoun. My sister uses it wrong a lot and it makes me want to punch her in the throat, but I resist. Any other grammar rule I can almost garuntee that I will use it the wrong way. If it seems like someone is using incorrect grammar I probably not going to correct it because I am afraid I will do it wrong, then I'll look super stupid.
I did think the article was pretty funny and imformative, but I will still be using the rules he talked about incorrectly. Bad grammar is now a habit.
Oh there is one other grammar thing that makes me mad when it is used wrong, an vs. a. If the word starts with a vowel just use an, and if not use a. It is defintely not that hard.
Michelle Trantham is a grammar Nazi.
